Freetown, Sierra Leone – Today, the 26th of February 2025, Rodney Strasser, a prominent and prolific Sierra Leonean defensive midfielder paid a courtesy call on Hon. Alhaji Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella, Chairman of the Presidential Initiative on Climate Change Renewable Energy and Food Security (PI-CREF) and Chairman of the Energy Governance Coordination Group (EGCG), at State House in Freetown.
The meeting provided a platform for Strasser to discuss his philanthropic work and contribution he is making to give back to Sierra Leone. Strasser, who has been at the forefront of various community-driven initiatives, shared details of his efforts to drive positive change in the country.

During the meeting, Strasser announced the formalization of his foundation, which he has established to improve coordination among stakeholders in the areas of community development and nation building. The foundation aims to create a unified approach that ensure that Sierra Leone’s development agenda is supported by effective and collaborative solutions.
Hon. Dr. Kandeh Yumkella expressed his appreciation for Strasser’s commitment to the country’s growth and the alignment of their efforts in promoting Sierra Leone. He emphasized the importance of strong partnerships in addressing the challenges we face as a nation and he praised Strasser’s initiative to formalize his foundation, as it would help enhance collaboration and the sharing of knowledge among key stakeholders.
Both leaders reiterated their commitment to collaborating in the future.
